Today, I was inspired to write this short poem worshiping books after I read the great article by Celerina Avellano . Thank you for reminding us how important is this “historical artifact” we simply call BOOK .

Love and preserve
Silent steps, aisles and shelves,
the scent of history and today,
the scent of stories and adventures,
the scent of wisdom and experience,
hidden in lines and on pages.
How I love these trips.
How I love to leave my fingertips
on these chains of letters and words.
And I love to hold the story
and carry it with me,
enter the unfamiliar places,
be part of uncountable journeys.
You can take me to the places
I have never been.
Did you ever hurt me?
Maybe I got a tiny cut
but you didn’t do intentionally.
You are my friend and I am yours.
I will love and preserve you,
I will give you a home
till I will close my eyes – definitely.
It is nice.
Thank you very much 🙂
